Sam’s Korean BBQ in La Quinta offers a straightforward, no-frills spot primarily for those seeking Korean and Japanese-inspired bowls and wraps. Located just off CA-111, this small restaurant caters well to locals who want a convenient, healthier meal option without the fuss of formal dining. The atmosphere isn’t about ambiance or décor — it’s plain and functional, with a focus on quick, fresh dishes that satisfy after a workout or a busy day.

The menu leans heavily on familiar Korean barbecue staples like beef bulgogi and chicken teriyaki bowls, alongside some Japanese touches such as California rolls and crab puffs. Popular choices include the chicken teriyaki bowl and marinated salads, which combine fresh vegetables with grilled proteins. These meals fit well with a health-conscious crowd or anyone looking for a balanced, flavorful lunch or dinner. The portion sizes are generous, making it a practical option for something filling but not heavy.

Beyond the food, the service is noted for being attentive and friendly, which adds to the comfortable, casual vibe. Many visitors treat Sam’s Korean BBQ as a reliable midweek stop, especially after hitting nearby gyms, reflecting its positioning as a practical post-exercise refuel. While the interior décor is modest and a bit dated, the cleanliness and organized setup make it a pleasant enough place to sit and eat if you choose.

This spot fits well into the La Quinta dining scene for anyone who prefers quick, straightforward meals with Korean and Japanese flavors. It’s especially well-suited for locals balancing health and budget, who appreciate the ability to order ahead for pickup or drop in for a relaxed, unpretentious meal. Expect an easy-going environment rather than a stylish night out — perfect for casual lunches or early dinners.

Great place to dine for a good and healthy meal without breaking the bank or the diet Top pick location to eat after a good workout from the gym This place is own by the same owner as Sam’s Sushi and offers the same Californian Rolls as an option The interior of the restaurant seems dull, but meals are utterly delicious and cheap

Was in town visiting. I hit a quick workout at the Planet Fitness up the street, so I wanted some post workout food. I was heading to subway, but then I saw it. I circled back around and then went in. It was a nice sized bowl with some shrimp and steak. Super flavorful. The steak was exceptionally good.

This is a nice clean environment, the staff here are always accommodating and pleasant. On our first visit here I was hesitant because it seemed like a fast food environment and that wasn't what we wanted but the food is definitely of great quality and we have never been disappointed. All of the items we have tried here have been great, the food has always been fresh and more than likely you will have leftovers. I love that Everytime the veggies are cooked perfectly, mushy vegetables are the worst. We have been visiting this place regularly for close to a year and have never had a bad meal or a negative experience.

Their chicken teriyaki bowls are the best around. It's a small, cozy place that's kind of tucked away but definitely worth stopping by for lunch or dinner. Ordering ahead for pickup is also available.

The food was excellent and a nice menu to choose from. Also the customer service was very good and the place is clean enough to eat there. Although the place truly needs an upgrade in appearance and presentation. Will recommend and return.

Good food, price, and customer service. You can see it cooked just past the counter. Perfect for a quick cheap bite with the bowls or a sit-down lunch/dinner with the Korean menu. Lots of menu variety, so there's something for everyone (steak, chicken, tofu, shrimp on rice/yakisoba plus the Korean stuff like galbi, bulgolgi, and oxbone soup).
